2010 Junior Badminton Tournament
Hamilton Sports Council held its annual Junior Badminton Tournament at Larkhall Leisure Centre on Sunday 7th February this year.
Forty boys and girls took part in four age groups but only four girls participated in the event and this is reflected in the table of results. Only one girl had entered for any of the competitions above primary level, so sadly she had to be advised that there would be no tournament for her.
However all who took part in the event seemed to enjoy themselves.
The tournament was supported by John Beattie, a Masters World Champion in badminton who acted as umpire for some of the finals and Millar Stoddart (South Lanarkshire Leisure, Community Recreation Manager) who has been a player and advocate of badminton in Lanarkshire for years.
